David Duggan
Board Member
David Duggan is an attorney who practiced law in New York and Illinois, working for law firms in Chicago and Manhattan, serving as a prosecutor of corrupt police officers in New York City for two years, teaching legal writing at a local law school, representing indigent criminal defendants, and authoring articles for legal periodicals. In 1993, Duggan started his own law firm in Chicago, from which he is now retired.
A life-long Episcopalian, and past senior warden of Church of the Advent, for 10 years Duggan authored a column of devotional essays entitled Faithwalk in the Anglican Advance, the newspaper for the Episcopal Diocese of Chicago. He won the Award of Excellence given by the Associated Church Press and three times received the Polly Bond Award of Merit given by Episcopal Communicators. He served on the board of St. Leonard’s House, the oldest half-way house for ex-offenders in Illinois, for a number of years. He also served on the board of directors of South Lakeview Neighbors, a civic organization for Chicago’s Lakeview Neighborhood. Duggan is a member of the Dartmouth Club of Chicago, and previously served as president.
Duggan pursued his undergraduate studies from Dartmouth College, obtained his Master of Science in .Journalism from Northwestern University Medill School of Journalism, and obtained his Juris Doctor from Northwestern University School of Law.
